The organization and the performance of the experimental work in the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine



I. General Provisions

The experimental work of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine is a system of the goal-oriented work on the possibility, the productivity and the opportunity to implement the socially important pedagogical theories, hypotheses, ideas, and innovations.

In the Institute of Pedagogy, the experimental work is performed in the framework of the performance of the fundamental and the applied scientific-research work during conducting the dissertation theses by the PhD students, the post-graduate students, those who are going to get a Degree, the scientific correspondents of the Institute of Pedagogy, under the instruction or a la carte as the scientific supervision on the experimental activity of the educational institutions at the corresponding levels:

- academic one – on the resolution of the Presidium of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine; the institution level (the Institute of Pedagogy) – on the resolution of the academic council; the structural sub-section (the Institute Laboratory) – on the resolution of the academic council; (the scientific-pedagogic) researcher – in accordance with the individual operating plan (according to the provision “On the Experimental Activity (Experiment) in the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine”),

- all-Ukrainian (on the resolution of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), regional (on the resolution of the bodies of the management of the education in the Autonomous Republic Crimea, Kyiv, and Sevastopol’), local (the resolution of the local bodies of the management of the education) in accordance with the provision “On the experimental comprehensive educational institution”, assigned by the decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of 23.11.2009 ¹ 1054.

The academic researches of the Institute of Pedagogy are directed at the formation of the competitive Ukrainian school education system, the methodological and the didactic provision of its development and functioning.

The main branches of the experimental researches of the Institute is a check of the possibility and the effectiveness of the worked out pedagogical innovations; the fundamentals of the selection, the structuring, and the realization of the comprehensive secondary education content; the methodological system of teaching natural scientific, mathematical, philological, social scientific, technological subjects; the methodologies of the formation of the key and the subject competences of the schoolchildren in the educational process; the technologies of the education quality monitoring; the mechanisms of the education development management at the regional level and the level of the educational institutions.

II. Topics and tasks of the experimental studies which are conducted in the fundamental and applied scientific-research work in 2013-2015

The topic of the experimental research work: “The Formation of the Key and the Subject Competences of Junior Pupils in the Educational Process”

The term of the experiment carrying out: 2010–2013

The level of the experiment – The Institute of Pedagogy.

Research supervisors: N. M. Bibik, a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, a Professor, a full member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, a chief researcher, K. I. Ponomaryova, a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, a chief researcher, O. V. Vashulenko, a researcher.

The quantity of experimental institutions – 11.

The purpose of the experimental research work: to check the effectiveness of the experimental methodology of the formation of the subject speech, social and cultural, reading, mathematical, nature scientific, healthcare competences of the pupils of the 3rd-4th grades in the integral educational process.

In the methodology basis, the innovative idea is laid; for the first time, in the homeland pedagogical practice, the education content is formed in accordance with the competence approach. The system of tasks is created according to the structure of the educational competence; it is practically oriented. The content includes the competence-oriented tasks as a leading experimental factor.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to find the readiness of the teachers to form the key and the subject competences of pupils in the academic process;

2) to determine the correspondence of the academic subjects content to the new competence-oriented educational goals;

3) to find out the effective innovative methods, methods, and means of studying as well as the forms of the educational activity organization which promote the formation of the key and the subject competences of the junior schoolchildren;

4) to determine the level of the competences of junior schoolchildren which were formed during the current methodologies usage.

The topic of the experimental research work: «The Linguistic and Didactic Basis of Teaching the Foreign Language for the High School Pupils»

The term of the experiment carrying out: 2011–2013

The level of the experiment– The Institute of Pedagogy.

Research supervisor– V. H. Red’ko, the chief of the Laboratory of Foreign Languages, a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and a senior researcher.

The quantity of experimental institutions– 6.

The purpose of the experimental research work: the experimental check of the linguistic and didactic basis of teaching the foreign language for the pupils of the high (field-specified) school in the context of the communication-oriented approach.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) the check of the main provisions of teching foreign languages content for the standart, academic and field-specified levels (the 10th-11th grades);

2) approbation of the separate methods and technologies of teaching a foreign language for the high school students who study at all levels.

In the process of the experimental work, the following innovations were developed:

1) the didactic and methodological basis of the creation of the content of the level teaching foreign languages for the pupils of the 10th-11th grades;

2) the peculiarities of the content of the foreign language lesson at high school under the conditions of the level approach;

3) elective courses as the innovative and effective educational form of the field-specified teaching of a foreign language for the high school pupils;

4) the types and the methods of monitoring the studying achievements of the high school pupils in a foreign language;

5) the psychological peculiarities of teaching a foreign language for modern high school pupils.

The topic of the experimental research work “The Scientific and Methodical Fundamentals of the Realization of a Linguistic and Culturological Approach to Teaching Languages and Literatures of the Ethnic Minorities at A Primary and Main Schools”

The quantity of experimental institutions– 9.

The purpose of the experimental research work is to check experimentally the content and the methodology of the linguistic and culturological approach to teaching languages and literatures of the ethnic minorities at the primary and at the main school.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to study the experience of the development of the abovementioned problem in the homeland and in the foreign pedagogical literature;

2) to study the modern state of the abovementioned problem in school practice;

3) to analyze the materials of the textbooks in languages and literatures of the ethnic minorities for the primary and the main school (the 5th-6th grades) taking into consideration the realization problems of the linguistic and culturological approach to teaching languages and literatures of the ethnic minorities at the primary and the main school;

4) to determine the content and the methods of the linguistic and culturological approach to teaching languages and literatures of the ethnic minorities at the primary and the main school, aimed at the development of the pupils’ linguistic and culturological competence;

5) to develop and to check experimentally the content and the methodology of the linguistic and culturological approach to teaching languages and literatures of the ethnic minoritiesat the primary and the main school, to generalize the research results.

The topic of the experimental research work: “The Content and the Methodology of Teaching the Ukrainian Literature on the Basis of the Competence Approach at the Main School”

The quantity of experimental institutions– 9.

The purpose of the experimental research work: to check experimentally the effectiveness of the competence-oriented methodology of teaching the Ukrainian Literature at the main school.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to analyze the homeland and the foreign pedagogical literature in the problem of the formation of the literary competence of the main school pupils in the process of teaching the Ukrainian Language;

2) to study the modern state of the abovementioned problem in school practice;

3) to clarify the terms which touch upon the competence approach to teaching the Ukrainian Literature at the main school;

4) to select and to provide an explanation of the selection of modern educational technologies, forms, methods, ways, and means of education which will guarantee the effectiveness and the productivity of the process of the pupils’ literary competence formation;

5) to check experimentally the developed methodology in the process in correspondence to the organized teaching of the Ukrainian Literature realized in the educational programs of the optional coursesand methodicalõhandbooks;

6) to generalize the achieved experimental data, to improve the handbooks taking into account the teachers-experimentators’ remarks and the noticed disadvantages.

The topic of the experimental research work: “The Formation of the Communicative Competence of the Pupils of the 5th-7th Grades as a Subject and a Key One”

The quantity of experimental institutions– 14.

The purpose of the experimental research work – to check the effectiveness of the methodology of the formation of the communicative competence of the pupils of the 5th-7th grades a a subject and a key one in the process of teaching the Ukrainian Language course in the comprehensive educational institutions.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to analyze the homeland and the foreign pedagogical literature in the problem of the formation of the communicative competence of the pupils of the 5th-7th grades a a subject and a key one in the process of teaching the Ukeainian Language;

2) to study the modern state of the abovementioned problems in school practice;

3) to specifycontent of the terms which touch upon the competence approach to teaching the Ukrainian Language at school and the interrelations between them;

4) to overview the principles of the determination of the school language education content;

5) to select and to provide an explanation of the choice of modern technologies, forms, methods, ways, and means of education which will guarantee the effectiveness and the productivity of the process of the formationof the pupils’ communicative competence;

6) to check experimentally the developed methodology in the process of the organized Ukrainian Language teaching with the experimental textbook for the 5th grade, the authorial methodology for the 5th-7th grades created by the Laboratory staff and realized in the methodical handbooks;

7) to generalize the selected experimental data, to improve the textbookand the handbook taking into account the remarks and the noticed disadvantages.

The topic of the experimental research work “The Theoretical and Methodical Fundamentals of the Integration of the Natural Science Education at the Main School”

The term of the experiment carrying out: 2012–2014

Research supervisor– V. R. Il’chenko, the chief of the Laboratory of Integration of the Content of Education, a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, a Professor.

The quantity of experimental institutions– 8

The purpose of the experimental research work – to check the effectiveness of the theoretical and the methodological basis of the integrationof the natural science education at the main school.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to work out the following experimental material: the manuscripts of the educational programs of the integrated courses “Nature Science” for the 5th-6thgrades, “Physics. Chemistry” for the 7th-9thgrades, “Biology. Geography” for the 7th-8thgrades; the handbooks “Nature Science” for the 5th-6thgrades, “Physics. Chemistry” for the 7th-9thgrades, “Biology. Geography” for the 7th-8thgrades; the control texts for pupils, the questionnaire for teachers;

2) to work out the criteria system of the determination of the effectiveness of the methodology of the implementation of the integral and competence model of the main school nature science education; the study on its influence on the formedness the nature science world view, the nature environmental image, the competence in Nature Science;

3) to check the content of the developed educational programs of the integrated courses “Nature Science” for the 5th-6thgrades, “Physics. Chemistry” for the 7th-9thgrades, “Biology. Geography” for the 7th-8thgrades and the optional course “Creating an Environmental Model” for the 5th-6thgrades; the handbooks «Nature Science»forthe 5th-6thgrades, «Physics. Chemistry» for the 7th-9thgrades, «Biology. Geography» for the 7th-8thgrades, “Creating an Environmental Model” for the 5th-6thgrades and the handbook for teachers “The Theoreticaand the Methodological Fundamentals of the Integration ofthe Nature Science Education at the Main School” in teaching of the experimental schools-laboratories;

4) to determine themethodological difficulties in the teachers’ work and in teaching pupils with the developed manuscripts of the educational programs and the handbooks in the integrated courses “Nature Science” for the 5th-6thgrades, “Physics. Chemistry” for the 7th-9thgrades, “Biology. Geography” for the 7th-8thgrades for them;

5) to generalize the results of the research work. To compare the achieved results of the educative process in the experimental schoolsand the schools where the traditional programs are used in teaching pupils.

The topic of the experimental research work: “The Formation and the Realization of the Updated Content and Structure of the Informational Education at the Main School”

The term of the experiment carrying out: 2012–2014

Research supervisor – V. V. Lapins’kyi, the chief of the Laboratory of Informatics Teaching, a Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, an Associate Professor.

The quantity of experimental institutions– 8.

The purpose of the experimental research work – the experimental check of the formation and the realization of the updated content and structure of the informational education at the main school.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to determine the components of the goals and the content of teaching Informatics in the comprehensive educational institutions which needs to be updated at the main school on the basis of the results of the analysis of the state of Informatics as a science and a branch of the informational technological technologies (ITT) as well as the homeland and the foreign researches;

2) to determine the principles and to work out the criteria of the selection of the Informatics teaching content at the main school taking into consideration the age peculiarities of the subjects of education, following the principles of a scientific character, availability, the practical importance and the modern stateof Informatics as a scienceand the level of the development of the informational technologies;

3) to work out and to provide an explanation of the structure and the updated content of teaching Informatics at the main school, to determine the new requirements for the results of teaching Informatics and to work out the corresponding educational programs;

4) to work out a series of the educational and methodological accomplishment of teaching Informatics for the 5thgrade (a program, a textbook, a pupil’s workbook, a teacher’s book), the subject content and the script of the educational electronic means on the basis of the determined criteria of the selection of the education content and defining the goals of the Informatics studying at the main school;

5) to check the effectiveness of the methodology of the developed series of the educational methodological accomplishment of teaching Informatics for the 5thgrade.

The topic of the experimental research work: «Competence-Oriented Methodology of Teaching Mathematics at the Main School»

The purpose of the experimental research work: to check of the structure quality and the content of the textbooks in Mathematics (the 5th-6th grades), Algebra (the 7th-8thgrades) and Geometry (the 7th-8thgrades), the effectiveness of the organizational forms, methods, ways and means of the competence-oriented teaching Mathematicsat the main school.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to specify the goal and the tasks of teaching Mathematics at the main school and the criteria of the monitoring pupils’ studying achievements;

2) to find out the sufficiency and the availability of the selected mathematical (the 5th-6th grades), algebraic (the 7th-9th grades), and geometrical (the 7th-9th grades) of the education content;

3) to check experimentally:

- content, volume, and structure of the textbooks “Mathematics, the 5thGrade”, “Mathematics, the 6thGrade”, “Algebra, the 7thGrade”, “Algebra, the 8thGrade”, “Geometry, the 7thGrade”, “Geometry, the 8thGrade»;

- the effectiveness of the system of monitoring the results of teaching Mathematics for the main school pupils;

- the system of tasks for the formation of the subject and the key competences of the main school pupils in the process of teaching Geometry;

- methodology of the formationof the key and the methodological competences of the main school pupilsby means of the project technologies;

- methods, methodological ways and means of education, the implementation of which promotes the main school pupils’ learning mathematical language as a component of the mathematical;

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) the determination of the level of the requirements for the content and level of knowledge, skills, and abilities of the pupils of the 7th – 9thgrades;

2) defining the level of knowledge, skills, and abilities of the pupils as well as the difficulties they faced within the process of studying Physicsat the main school;

3) defining the pedagogical conditions of the improvement of the productivity of studying Physicsat the main school which made the pupils’ educative activity the most effective as well as the difficulties of their;

4) selection and optimization of thecontent, formsand methods of teaching Physicsat the main school;

The purpose of the experimental research work: the explanationandthe experimental check of the theoretical fundamentals of the selection, classification, projecting, and implementations of the organizational mechanisms of the comprehensive educational institutions management on the basis of tectology, systematology, synergetics,andmodern managementconcepts under the conditions of the modernizational changes, the development of theinformational and technologicalprovisionof the effective mechanisms of the development of the functioningand the development of a comprehensive educational institution.

The tasks of the experimental research work:

1) to provide the system convent-analysis of the genesis of the management fundamentalsandto determineits the influence ondevelopmentof the organizational structures of th management of a comprehensive educational institutions and the mechanisms of a comprehensive educational institution managementin the educational sphere;

2) toanalyse the state of the investigated problem in the theory and the practice of the management of the comprehensive educational institutions functioning;

3) to find outthe essentialityandto determinethe peculiaritiesof the issue“a management mechanism”andits varieties, in particularly“the organizational mechanism of the management of a comprehensive educational institution”, “the economic mechanism in the buffer zone”, “the investment mechanism”, “the financial and the economic management mechanism”,and so on;

4) to determineand to concretisizethe essentialityof the categorical and the conceptual framework of the research problem, the methodology of th problem research;

5) to studythe homeland and the foreignexperiencein providing the scientific lay-outs of the organizational and economic mechanisms of management in the educational sphereand their usage by the directors in their management activity; to analyse the lawand the informational provisionof the organizational mechanisms of a comprehensive educational institution;
